Tive & BSI Group Join Forces to Expose How Global Companies Can Use Digital Tools to Protect High-Value Goods During Shipment

BOSTON, March 7, 2023 — Tive, the global leader in supply chain and logistics visibility technology, is partnering with BSI Group, the business improvement and standards company, to present a webinar showcasing how real-time visibility technology tools can help thwart cargo theft—and reduce the security risks inherent to moving goods around the globe. This event is scheduled for Thursday, March 16 at 11:00 am ET, and will be available for on-demand access after the fact.

Presented in conjunction with Retail Dive, this webinar will primarily focus on high-value goods shipments—including electronics, medical equipment, and industrial equipment—and will also discuss effective ways of protecting these precious shipments during potentially risky border crossings and multimodal shipment transfer points.

This free webinar will explore:

  • The role technology plays in helping companies avoid these issues
  • How technology can bring peace of mind, mitigate insurance claims, and keep the supply chain running smoothly
  • Why companies need to pay closer attention to cargo theft and security risk mitigation now—before they incur damage and loss

Delivered by Tive Chief Revenue Officer Josh Allen and BSI Group’s Tony Pelli, Practice Director, Security & Resilience, webinar attendees will learn how low-cost, real-time visibility platforms can bring peace of mind, mitigate insurance claims, and keep the supply chain running smoothly—all the while costing roughly 1% the cost of freight insurance, in some cases.

Cargo theft and damage cost businesses hundreds of millions of dollars a year, and the ripple effect can be both disruptive and expensive. According to Business Insider, cargo theft is a $15 - $35 billion industry in the U.S. alone—and increased by 37% in Q1 2022 over Q4 2021. Transfer points, where freight changes hands or modes, pose the greatest risk; shipments awaiting pickup at ports are particularly susceptible. The risk of theft is also high for rail-to-road transfers, especially during the final leg of a journey.

“The importance of the information being shared in this webinar can’t be overstated. The risk that arises when freight changes hands—or modes of transport—plagues all shippers of high-value goods.” says Josh Allen, Tive Chief Revenue Officer. “We urge shippers and LSPs to attend this event, and to dedicate more attention to the ever-present threat of cargo theft—because addressing it before it becomes an even bigger problem helps prevent product loss.”

Participants can register for this free webinar on the Retail Dive website.
